Drawn
Together
Highlighting
the multiform ways that drawing can be used to express
emotion and convey information, Drawn Together at
Bury St Edmunds Art Gallery included works by regional
artists and a selection of drawings from The Arts Council
Collection. The exhibition was programed to coincide with
'Drawing Power', a national initiative by The Campaign
for Drawing that has the simple but ambitious aim of getting
everyone drawing. www.drawingpower.org.uk
Artists
included in the exhibition were invited to work in the
gallery, enabling visitors to meet and talk to the artists.
Drawing equipment was also available for visitors to participate.
A large length of communal drawing was produced over the
period of the show. Once a week after school the resident
artist offered a structured workshop encouraging children
to make their contribution to the exhibition.
