SEED BED  Based on the mathematical function of Spherical Harmonics this work relates to the fundamental concept of evolutionary morphologies and creative growth. Generated in computer code the working method lends itself to altering the code to make related and evolving shapes. Being able to 3D print these unique and individual forms directly from the computer in clay also represents the strength of this technology. Spherical harmonics are important in many theoretical and practical applications, particularly in the computation of atomic orbital electron configurations, representation of gravitational fields, geoids, and the magnetic fields of planetary bodies and stars. So while the shapes are not exactly seeds there is that representation of the commonality of natural phenomena. I want this work to speak of the development of ideas as much as form.
